Attorney Simon Weissman is a Connecticut attorney who specializes in real estate transactions, landlord-tenant litigation, estate planning and administration, and probate litigation. Simon also takes on civil litigation matters on a selective basis. Simon previously worked as a commercial real estate attorney for an AmLaw 200 firm, where he maintained his office out of the firm’s Stamford office.
While Simon has specialized, his wide-array of experiences created a strong foundation to provide a generalized law practice.
After gaining admission to the Connecticut Bar, Simon worked as a generalized practitioner at a small New Haven firm with a focus on sell-side mergers and acquisitions and business litigation. There, Simon developed a keen understanding for small business organizational concerns and state requirements, as well as small commercial and residential real estate transactions. Simon then worked for a large law firm in Stamford, where he represented buyers, sellers, borrowers, and lenders in commercial real estate transactions, primarily through acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, development and financing transactions.
After leaving “Big Law,” Simon began pursuing his own practice while developing new skills and prospective in the Connecticut court system, primarily providing guidance to pro se parties. Simon worked as an assistant clerk in Hartford Housing Session, facilitating eviction litigation and real estate disputes. Simon has also served as a Staff Attorney for the New Haven Probate Court, navigating the complexities of Connecticut’s Probate system.
Being born and raised in New Haven, Connecticut, Simon is familiar with the state and local rules and regulations, the state’s real estate landscape, and the many challenges facing communities in Connecticut. Moreover, Simon has developed a strong network of professionals to work with in the area for your litigation, general corporate or real estate transactional needs, including (without limitation) accountants, brokers, inspection companies, surveyors, environmental assessment professionals, and wealth advisors.
There are many great attorneys in Connecticut and Simon is proud to be one of them. Simon dedicates a majority of his practice to serving clients that he is passionate about. Simon cares deeply about contributing to housing affordability in Connecticut and has set up his practice to be able to provide an avenue of relief for hopeful homeowners.
